The shortcut doesn't do anything

Chrome sometimes leaves extension shortcuts unassigned after an update. Open chrome://extensions/shortcuts and check that Alt+Shift+P, S, F and R are still bound to ScrnCap. Shortcuts also never fire on chrome:// pages or the Chrome Web Store, because Chrome blocks extensions there.

Question 2

Nothing happens on a chrome:// page or the Web Store

That is a Chrome restriction, not a bug: no extension may run on the browser's own pages, the Chrome Web Store, or another extension's pages. Switch to a normal tab and the capture works as usual.

Question 3

The full-page shot has repeated headers or missing images

Accepted Answer

Sticky headers are hidden during the scroll, but a few sites re-show them on every scroll event. Scroll to the bottom of the page once before capturing — that also gives lazy-loaded images time to arrive — then run the capture again.

Question 4

A very long page fails or comes out blank

Accepted Answer

Browsers cap how large a single canvas can be, so a page tens of thousands of pixels tall can hit that ceiling. Capture it in two region shots, or export it as PDF, which pages the image instead of holding it all at once.

Question 5

Copy to clipboard didn't work

Accepted Answer

Chrome only lets a page write to the clipboard while it is focused. If you clicked away during the capture, click back into the tab and copy again from the preview or editor.
